Community Garden Transforms Neighborhood
In the heart of Cloverdale, a once-neglected lot has bloomed into a vibrant community garden, thanks to the efforts of local residents. Spearheaded by retiree Maria Gonzalez, the project turned a weed-filled plot into a haven of fresh produce and flowers within six months. Over 50 families now tend the garden, growing everything from tomatoes to sunflowers. The garden has not only provided free food but also strengthened bonds among neighbors, with weekly potlucks and gardening workshops. "Itβs more than plants; itβs our community growing together," Gonzalez shared. Local schools have joined in, using the space for outdoor learning. The initiative has inspired nearby towns to start similar projects, spreading green vibes across the region.
